Have you ever had a dream that became a reality, only to have it ripped away from you via a senseless act?
Melanie Macklin HAS, and she wants to tell you HER story. It's a TRUE story of pain, suffering, loss, hope, intrigue, corruption, drama, mystery, betrayal, and finally, hopefully, vindication.

Virtually physically crippled as a result of two motor vehicle accidents, Mel fights back only to be emotionally crippled due to the loss of her 21 year old daughter, also as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
With so many negatives occurring in her life in Australia, Mel marries an Irishman, sells up everything and heads off to Ireland, full of hope and renewed enthusiasm to start a brand new life.
Things, unfortunately, don’t work out as planned. Mel finds employment hard to come by, so she decides to start up her own business, a business that has all the hallmarks of being a very lucrative return for effort and investment.
Spending most of her savings on securing premises, buying the production equipment and getting it freighted from Australia to Ireland, Mel takes on three partners to share some of the costs – her husband, her brother-in-law and her sister-in-law.
Mel’s husband leaves her and relinquishes his shareholdings. Her brother-in-law, a heavy drinker, sells off his share to an employee and her sister-in-law also wants to bail out due to pressing financial problems.
If the business didn’t have potential, Mel would never have started it in the first place. As soon as their product was made accessible to the public, it became an instant success. She knew it would be popular, but was overwhelmed at just how popular. She managed to balance the supply and demand scenario, and things were taking shape nicely.
Someone, for reasons yet unknown - be it revenge, jealousy, financial gain, or whatever - took their actions to the extreme by setting fire to the business premises, or arranging for someone else to do it, totally destroying it.
The Irish Garda (police) have botched their investigations, and as a result, the Insurance Company are refusing to pay out on the claim.
Now whether it was one or more of the relatives, the landlord, the opposition, or persons unknown who did the deed, the question still remains - WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? Maybe YOU can help find the answer? Investigations by the police are continuing with no concrete evidence to charge anyone after 18 months. Without charges being laid by the police, the Insurance Company are refusing to pay out on the claim.
The only FACT that is known at this very moment, is that it WAS done and Mel has ended up without a business, virtually alone and definitely broke.
The events are still unfolding right now! Everyone mentioned exists, but names have been changed for legal reasons.
Ask yourself this valid question:
Would YOU be strong enough to bare your very soul to complete strangers, in an effort to help people overcome THEIR OWN miserable existence which has been caused by others?
Mel has climbed and almost conquered her seemingly impossible life’s mountain.
I wonder if you could!
Extracts from the book...

Chapter 1:
She drove down the lane that took her to the main road. It was only a few hundred feet and she could see the factory roof in the distance. The round patch on the flat roof at the end of the building did not look right. It was glowing. The muscles in her stomach tightened. As she approached the turn off, Mel realized that she was not alone on the lonely, normally deserted lane. At the entrance to the factory was a small dark sedan parked facing towards her.
Chapter 3:
Her life had taken an extreme turn for the worse. The once vibrant and outgoing person had been reduced to an introverted, almost invalid woman. Meeting and marrying Peter, was viewed as being a blessing by Mel, but, as they say, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Peter was a charmer, and he painted a very rosy picture of a wonderful life Mel and he could have in Ireland, where everything would be perfect. Upon reflection, the decision to go with Peter to Ireland actually occurred when Mel lost her daughter, aged 21, in a senseless car accident in April 2001.
Chapter 9:
Three times in the past seven years, Mel had received the phone call, advising that her dad was on death's door and each time, as if by a miracle, he would come back stronger than ever before. This time mirrored the past occurrences, so Mel didn't get overly concerned. After all, he was admitted into hospital with the flu. In the back of her mind however, she considered what the scenario might develop into if something did happen to her father, necessitating her return to Australia at short notice.
Chapter 11:
"Perhaps you might reconsider accepting an investment from us next time round," said Fenton, and hung up the phone.
Chapter 13:
When the Detective probed for more details about the ‘Good Samaritan,’ Mel couldn’t provide any details about him or the vehicle he was driving. With all that was happening, she didn’t think to ask his name, get his registration number, anything. She couldn’t even remember seeing him leave. She did remember telling the first police officer on the scene about him, but again, nothing substantial.
